alright so my theory is Rex is already back to his senses ever since the notification to satiate his bloodthirst. The only reason he's going along with this charade even though he's most likely already aware that it's not sebrof is to get the second king mark to further increase his strength since losing his mother made him feel like he wasn't strong enough. also as a byproduct he's aiming to try and get the rest of the human factions to give their all to uniting to fight a stronger opponent to help motivate them working together and also showing them all at the same time how they all individually need to get even stronger. He has telepathy with kyran who even saw how sebrof reacted to finding Gianna was going against Rex I find it impossible to believe he didn't at least once inform Rex. this facade will most likely conclude when Edward shows up and Rex pretends to have a hard time listening even though he's waiting for it once he hits a 100 percent.

As Rex and Sebs continue their long over due clash, Gianna escorts Edward at a steady pace close to the barren land of gore and destruction. Fast forward a chapter, Rex and Sebs at supposed standoff and Eddy gets to converse with Rex trying to reason and explain. To no avail does he sway Rex into acknowledging his explanation. Slowly Rex descends down to his closest and most trusted friend. As Rex draws near, Edward looks into his best friends eyes only to be met with an indifferent glare.
