Quinn's magic handling as of right now would be like a high efficiency pedal bike, like an athletic cyclist on a 21 or 27 speed bike that can be as fast or slow that Quinn can control that can navigate tight, narrow, and precise navigation. Point is that Quinn is in control of how his magic performs, as every thing is fine tuned for manual control. The Wand would be like changing a pedal bike to a high performance motorcycle. The fastest bicycle can reach 133Kph or 83 Mph, and high performance Motorcycle can reach 200 to 250 Mph. The Elder Wand would be like the fastest Motorcycle which can reach 420 Mph. FYI your normal cyclist for a Bicycle averages 15 Mph, Professional cyclist get about 30 Mph, fastest bicycle on earth is 83 Mph. Average motorcycle is 180 Mph, High Performance Motorcycles 200 to 250 Mph, Fastest is 420 mph on earth. Quinn will need to learn how to drive or he will crash when using it. You use a tool, the tool doesn't use you! Quinn could use the sensation of when he acquired the wand to build his emotional Occlumency up, while trying to use a real wand once in a while so he can learn operate it when he really needs it. Not sure if I expained it well enough. Heck maybe learning to Mastering his wand could be his Final year Project.
