Indeed, there are an extremely few ff that actually have Riser be a decent character, I like this version explanation of why he did what he did, and honestly this makes more sense, because at the end of the day for devils it politics and its business, nothing else

That was such a different Riser that I am used to reading that it was a breath of fresh air. It was a nice interaction in a way i didn't expect.
