I'm low key hoping the hawk gets offended somehow halfway. or the hawk returns back without them. or throws a tantrum demanding for more stones. it'll be interesting to see how they deal with it. XD

Okay, you need more conflicts, events and rewards in your story to make it interesting. In general, conflicts are things that needed to be solved and can make the story urgent. For example, the MC needs to do X for Y to happen or he can't do Z which is important like raising his cultivation or preventing him from dying. Then you need challenges and events. The things that prevent the MC from doing his X, Y and Z that are unexpected like competition or certain rules or just money problems. The you can have the MC try to solve those before he get the X, Y and Z. Finally, you need to give the readers what they wanted. The power ups, the break through, the face slapping, the super loot...etc. And let the MC run wild with it.

Demon Beasts are an important resource and I don't see anything wrong with being respectful to your Demon Beast? They might get resentful and throw you off.
