Truth be told creating eldritch religion is not that bad of idea. Some kind of organization either way has to exist on colonized planet anyway and if it solves Mc parasite need or instinct thenthe better. I only worry what would happen when earth Federation comes and sees irregularities. It will be of paramount importance for religion to hide behind standard earth colony appearance.

Also whether it mess with Mc it doesn't really matter. What really matters is whether will remain rational and logical. Aware of what's going on with his emotions. If yes then maybe creating religion will be a way to make his instincts calm down. And some kind of organization has to be created either way.
