I mean there could be more and or interesting OC things happening but will it impact the future at all? Almost everything that happens in WW2 of the MCU is irrelevant to the rest of the MCU. The only thing that mattered was a super solider(s) being made and stopping the Hydra plane with super bombs from reaching the USA, a super solider going on ice with it, and the tesseract being dropped in the ocean for Howard stark to later find.
