Honestly I don't feel sorry for him. Reincarnating into one piece world knowing it is a world with corrupt Marines and vicious pirates and still living ignorantly like he did for 7 years is his fault... I know that there is nothing he could have done to change the outcome, but he at least could have trained himself so he would have a better head start.
