I don't see Damon as a control freak. He is alpha, and it is his job to keep the pack safe' however, he's not utilizing the best tactics with Aila. She is strong and independent and was not raised in the wolf world. They both need to step back a bit and look at it through the other's perspective. That said, it is not in the author's or story's best interest to do that quickly!!
