Feels forced to me but that's probably because the readers have more information. We know he killed himself, his body was taken, and then he appeared on the battlefield. So my guess is his body was being puppeted because I doubt Traxdart had the power to resurrect Syryn. If this is the case Rowan didn't kill Syryn, he just purified his desecrated corpse and maybe killed whoever was puppeting it. I really wanna know the wording of this vow and how it let's him say yes to that question without letting him say something more specific like, [I cremated your corpse], or ask the counter question, [when you say "me" who or what do you mean?], I feel like Rowan is smart enough to push Syryns train of thought in the right direction but then again his misguided sense of guilt(if my guess is right) might be clouding his judgment. IDK I was expecting Eos to give him back his memories but I guess not, so now I'm depressed.
I'm glad that everyone got a hard slap to them and want to know how they will react later, but this confession made me sad, it was supposed to be a happy occasion, but this piece of news made Syryn go 🥲 why tell Syryn now, not before, nor later? why, why now? ah... I'm sad.. for how long will they separate? they're both not happy.... will Syryn go alone or will he take someone with him? like at least Luci, oh, the cat, both cats?
so that's why Rowan was holding back in the beginning ... why he kept telling Syryn to remember... he didn't want to start something with him only for Syryn to remember later on and possibly hate him or try to get revenge or leave him ... but it happened anyway ... can't fault Syryn for leaving but thankful he doesn't seem to hate Ro.. so he killed Syryn when Traxdart stole Syryn from the magic coffin and brought him back to life cause I remember in the early parts of the story Syryn sacrificed himself by sliting his wrist to use his blood for some spell or ritual or something of that sorts to protect everyone. I miss the old Syryn hope the voice in his head really can help bring back his memories..
