I have a question if his memory is erased everytime he is reborn and he doesn't regain his memory then what makes him Zelhart.
He has the tendency to follow the will of the other Zelhart's because he is since the beginning becoming one with Darkness. He lived his own life what made him different, that's why he has two names in the novel. To summarize, as a start he was someone totally new, shaped by his own environment, as Robert lessons and Scullery betrayal, that is Gremory and he was becoming one with Darkness this whole time, transitioning from Gremory to Zelhart, but still with traces of Gremory. So yes, he can break away, since he is Zelhart but still have the same will as Gremory. taloc92:So, I'm hearing is his nature is zelhart but by point is if his memories are totally erased and the factors changed in his life wouldn't that in turn give him a change of character.like yes he is still predispositioned to do evil due to the pleasure factor but, with his new persona of Gremory he's had a new upbringing and his own wills and wants he could break away.
