At this point in the story it looks like Dumbledore is going down the slightly dark manipulative route meaning that he’s raising Harry to be a sacrifice to defeat Voldemort, he will be trying to get Harry to fulfil his “Destiny” no matter the cost as he would truly believe that it’s the only way and in his point of view it’s for the “Greater Good”.

just let the troll be dealt by the professors not by the students to make them useful atleast, and stop harry from being in quiditch snape not a fan of harry so it will be impossible for him to make an exemption to the rule like mcdognagal just punished harry for flying or whatnot, and i suggest make dumbles and voldie fight instead of harry or the mc, or made voldies soul stuck in the philosophers stone just like in fullmetal alchemist philosophers stone that was full of soul
