I wonder if he can transmute the spell itself to a higher tier magic. Like if he can that's just op. If he can will allocating his skill points to the point that his skill can't be upgraded be a requirement for the said upgrading of spell. Well if not then he wasted a lot of skill points which he could've just saved for higher tier of magic.

For a intelligent man, he is incredibly stupid. SP are very limited, leveling up will be harder and harder. He should save them as much as possible until he have more information and more useful skills.
