I think you may have confused wisdom with intelligence. Kindergarteners have the same intelligence as adults, as IQ doesn't really change, but they just don't have the same wisdom and maturity.

I keep forgetting he's like 13 and short. it makes more sense why he's using a dagger right now. to him it's probably closer to a short sword and I don't think he could physically handle a full length sword.
