the names in this book are so weird. decidedly abnormal. Margaretha is a woman's name (derivative of Margaret) but all the pronouns are male... Lexus is a car brand.. it's like reading a story with a character named Toyota. And when someone really IS named Lexus it's a woman's. it's like the author picked names randomly from a baby name book that distract from the story. makes it hard for me to get into.
hmm apparently the Margaret character is female now? so it's probably a pronoun issue. The names are still a problem for me. when every name in your story has to be odd or unusual it's distracting. I'm not saying you gotta call everyone John and Mary but in the real world some people have common names... at least the lead to character names are fairly normal.
