Comments of chapter undefined of Master of none

In chapter 12 Walker got the Party Leader skill which lets him "also be able to quick chat any party members by announcing 'quick chat _____' ". Couldn't he use that to contact people in Genesis? If I remember correctly since Clara is their party manager still they also have a communication channel with her.
