They should choose the Queen based on their characters and wisdom too, not just with a mere prophecy. A queen will hold some authority after her coronation even if she won't deal with politics and the like. Come on, Adeline and Lydia are both 20 years old (if I'm not wrong). That mean 20 years life experience. Character and experience will surely affect one's judgement. Are they truly in desperate situation where they need to solely place their kingdom's fate in the hand of a prophecy?

If Lydia slept with Elias that would create some first class drama, and a lot of psychological intricacies in the aftermath. I‘m actually rooting for this a little bit for the story’s sake. Well, maybe it’s just me, but if Elias & Adeline had the perfect relationship I would be bored out of my wits. Bring the point of no return.
