Your writing is very relaxed and the ideas you've brought together to begin this story show great promise so keep writing!

So he doesn't even have a family or something... the only thing wrong with this chapter is you never mentioned if he had friends or family... that makes the story boring from the start, I'll read ahead and see what happens though.

I like it, no useless reflexion like "is it a dream ?", he just ask for time and prepare and worry about everything after. MCs in many novel lived in a magical post-apocalyptic world but kept doubting time-travel, loosing time etc.
