Feeling guilty causes one to act differently, Alex was filled with guilt that she took advantage of Robbie, her best friend. she should have been honest but Robbie didn’t explain his embrace with another man, so honesty on his part could have helped the situation as well. Robbie could have been successful with Alex at his side But their situation probably accelerated his success.

Tbh all of this is Alex's fault. She claimed she did want him to give up his career for her if he knew she was pregnant but I think she's just making excuses because she was being a coward in wanting to settle down. She never told him and gave him a chance to see how he'd handle everything. He could have still been a father and still make his dreams come true, so all that she's saying is complete BS. And the fact that she started a rumour about him being gay and damaging his life just eclipse her selfishness even more.
