emery isn't responsible for morgana at all. he told her not to follow him and she did, that's on her. but emery should still look for her either way

I'd say wrong question. One can argue he as man has to take care of the girl (kind of archaic - but I still like the notion). She came on her own and helped him - that alone makes her plight his "business" - even though he is not "responsible". In the end her wellbeing is his wish - so helping her the only sensible choice!
