Go seems like an interesting game to me, mainly because I play chess and this seems to resemble chess to some degree.
Chess and Go are completely different games on a fundamental level. I don’t know how you came to the conclusion that one came from the other. You might as well say that hockey is derived from basketball

I am loving the story. But between the last chapter and this one, there seems to be a chapter or two missing. What happened after the inner disciple asked how he knew about the herbs? How did the MC and the Elders get on such good terms? When did they start regularly playing go together? There seems to be a lot of information missing, or even a time skip missing. It feels like a time skip, but also feels like the next day.
