If this is as far back as I remember it saying, then these "cruel" acts are incredibly common and are the norm, him placing his modern morals on a primitive world and using his power to enforce seems wrong in itself. plus If he keeps this up he's going to affect history more negatively than not.

Agreed. This mc is changing history whether he knows it or not, what an amateur. If I were him this story would've went a whole lot differently.
