Yeah, not going to lie. This and the last few chapters seemed extremely pointless. The plan was more than enough at causing a distraction the separated them from the group, 2 1st realm servants hardly seem like a reason to commit a manhunt, the slaughter of clan members on the other hand is definitely a reason. For a MC that seems to be about calmly planning, that seems like a poor decision.
Fair enough, It might have been a snap reaction as the situation for me just felt distasteful. I am sure that Anne is probably a darker character than she was portrayed as (essentially being the slave overseer) I will probably shelve this for now until I am more in the mood where I don't mind psychopathic leads. (my first impression of the characters - granted their backgrounds justify it) Keep up the good work.
CosmicPrime:While there wasn't going to be a manhunt, the duo wanted to take every precaution there was. Even if they were to simply escape, they would still need to kill of the Spirit Monsters blocking their way, and they're not at all fast enough to outrun Spirit Monsters without leaving a destruction trail in their wake. And by then Anne would've finish killing their group Spirit Monster and chase down the duo. Anne has authority over slaves and it will be her job to chase them down. The clan itself won't even know their clan members had died until hours later given how dense the Woods are. Anne has authority over slaves but that job isn't special at all. These clan members are all low rankings and have zero way to immediately contact the Clan if they were alive. Furthermore, the clan doesn't expect a hunting ordeal to be done in say a short amount of hours and even then they certainly won't send a search team until very late at night. But by then this Clan specifically is nowhere near high level enough to accurately track down two Qi Foundation realm cultivators among every type of Spirit Monster already roaming the Woods. Also, Darcel and Aniela if you remember the beginning of the story was raised in an unconditional cruel environment, they grew up where killing your problems is normal.
I felt like it was unnecessary for Anne to Die. Honestly, They had enough strength to overpower them all and knock them unconscious. Sure, I get that they lived in a harsh world before meeting them but that doesn't mean you should bite the hand of those who feed you. But anyway, it is a interesting book so fa..
What? These are slavers? If this was considered slavery the Civil War wouldnât have happened. Iâm kinda confused about this book. Is it supposed to be an antagonist MC like Profane Prince or something? Because they killed them with little reason they werenât being forced to stay at all, it was offered to them like a job so what was the point of killing them other then just wanting to?
