I think this scene is just showing how powerful The Opposer is, and how he views the lives of others so much weaker. He is basically capital G God. Every other living being is like a bacteria to him, which is natural to happen when an uncountable amount of time has passed and lives come and go to him like little sparks. They mean nothing. Overall a great scene and the parents didn’t die, so I’m happy.
