Darkness Black Bear
I'm atheist, but this chapter for me is stupid propaganda. This sentence mean since in future will be to imposible to understand for normal people, even now is very hard is possible to stop progres of since because human reasoning is limited. For China is important to fall religion not for enlightenment but because religion is alternative source of morality. China goverment wont to by the onley one source of morality. Sorry for my English
I don't think it is legal for a biology professor to provide absolutes on topics of critical philosophical discussion during paid lecture time. Does god exist? Does he or she not? Those are debatable topics of philosophical branch. Unless it is a seminar, even philosophical professors won't decide that god is real or not (unless they specify beforehand that it is their opinion and allow space for discussion). Not to mention, this is a damn Biology class and based on ch1, it is way past the introduction phase.
Well in modern time due to corporate science articles and pseudo-science scams with doctored results you need faith that the research was done properly and then not adjusted to make it look good. Because most people neither have the time nor the knowledge to verify if it is a genuine article or something which exist only for a purpose outside of science.
The author is just an atheist full of lies. Clearly Einstein once said, "The more I study science, the more I believe in God." I like the novel about achieving immortality and divinity. But the author of this novel is clearly an atheist who vents his atheism into the novel. I stopped at this chapter!
The very definition of science exclaims that there Will always be something to understand, something else to learn. That is what it means. Science tries to explain why and how when etc. But it will never ever invade into philosophical territory, because philosophy created science. The scietific method is what proplr usually consider as hard science, but there are many plsces where the usual method does not work. In Quantum and metaphysical for example the act of a bserving is meaningless.
:/ didn't the author explain it well enough? science doesn't apose religion, it's also not a belief and it cannot be manipulated, it's simple truth, even without humans being there. science focuses on these truths that can be seen and measured at the moment, and people try to find new ways to see/measure/ explain things which are still beyond us. even if science proved that no god is needed to create living matter, heal illness, create natural disasters, it never proved that A GOD doesn't exists so it has nothing to do with the question of God at the current time. just btw... Are Nature, Natural laws, God's doing or is it God himself? if u can't even be sure about such simple stuff, stop saying science opposes belief only cuz it makes most of the made up arguments religious people use not as convincing anymore.
Einstein DID in the end, on his bed, believe in religion. It was specificially the muslim religion, "Allah" Anyways.... Take the muslim religion as an example, the original religion, not the divided one's called Sunni. It cannot function without science, because science is litterally written in the book. Whether it be black hole, Wormhole and all that. This chapter makes it seem like a religion with science is not "right". Which is absurdly retarded to even put their own opinion on so. But Whatever.
The statement "everything science can't explain is just because science has not yet advanced far enough" is itself a statement of faith. It's an equivalent to "I don't understand it but God must have a reason." I'm not saying that science is wrong, or that religion is right. But never take someone at their word regarding their own belief path. To them, by definition, it is always the correct path. Were that not the case, they wouldn't believe it from the start.
