2 things: 1. Chapter headline is too much of a spoiler and because of it at the end of the chapter I did not feel any cliff. And I think I could have felt mild cliff otherwise. 2. mc bashing is too overwhelming and at the same time too simple and similar to all his bashings (last one was that singing teaching). I have no idea how to do it better but you could look all his options/bashings side by side. Also it may be cultural thing but at least for me to make me laugh in theatre comedy is much much harder that making me sad in drama. So if it made people laugh it could not have been acted that bad.
