AmberFullMoon:It seems to me that the word 'lover' is perceived differently in different cultures. In some cultures it is the person you love, in another it will be the person with whom you have a physical intimacy. In my culture it has both meanings. But if they were dating, as in dating, the word 'boyfriend' would be more appropriate. Of course lover is also appropriate, but it doesn't indicate a formal relationship. A lover can be someone with whom one has a physical relationship outside of marriage, for example. But you can also fondly call your husband a lover, referring not to physicality but to the fact that you love him. The differences between languages and cultures can sometimes be really complicated :) In this case and in this moment, they are lovers to each other in the sense of physical intimacy. :)
