There's another problem here...It was Saturday, Levi earlier said she was at home and her dog walker had a party or something. But now he's telling she came earlier from lab unexpectedly?
Cliff Analysis I spent half an hour calming down...I'm still not very calm. Sam is beautifully written character. I always wanted to read more of the banters between Sam And Levi. Sam could complete Levi. But Sam is... probably dead. Why Sam could be alive: 1. The way the last 2 chapters were written is constantly pushing the idea of Sam's death to me. The author would usually do this when actually keeping the character alive, to create some *******. 2. The body bag could be Sam's maid. 3. Since she died from drowning, there is still a chance to come back to life. A very low chance, but not necessarily low since it's a fictional character. There's also the Lazarus syndrome, which is coming back to life after cardiopulmonary resuscitation fails. There are many examples of coming back to life hours after being declared dead. Heh. Ironic for the dead whisperer. 4. Author said "Sorry in Advance". An author usually wouldn't give a hint before the moment of declaration. It could be baiting us to believe she is dead for real. Why Sam could be dead: 1. She has already been declared dead. 2. The ******* was set up in a way to make us feel nonchalant because we've seen such arcs many times in many stories. The way the author presented it, and the 4th point from above, they all could be reverse psychology to give us false hope. 3. If you look back at Sam's interactions and her relationship with Levi, she does seem a lot like a character set up to die and lead to character development of the main character. I can already imagine how it would help change Levi. ************************** Rationally, I think she is dead. If I were to write a character that would have a great relationship with the protagonist and die, leading to his development, this is one of the ways I would write it. Emotionally, I believe she is still alive. I really like her banters with Levi and don't want her to die. This is one of the most balanced cliff hangers I've seen. I really can't tell for sure how it will go. Regardless of whether she makes it, Sam has been a great character and her banters with Levi will be remembered.
Its impossible for her to be dead. All this happened in her own heavily guarded fortress and her team never came? That's not possible. Unless her own brother wants her head...but I don't see that possibility either. I think Sam and Levi planned to use this incident to misguide the serial killer. She was drugged, that drug might prevent her from death from drowning.
