The chapter started so well & then Samara had to burst the bubble. She has no care for Lucy’s happiness & is so devoid of any love or affection for her daughter. Its so sad that Lucy confides in her mother that she didn’t like any of the suitors but her worries fall on deaf ears. Its also really sad that after all these years of indifference, Lucy still hoped for a hug from her cold mother.
