I love the split chapter. The sweet in counter between Maddie and Calhoun, her meeting his mother, the only other person special to him. And the the dark under tone of the flash back, I love that we are getting to see more of what made him who he is. Thank you Ash for the updates, now the long agonizing wait till tomorrow 🤣

I feel sad at the end of this one... I think Cal grew up so sad and bitter, and after watching his Mom die -- it must have been so hard for him to trust anyone! The angry, young handsome Man. So Sad😢

Love these bonding moments between Calhoun and Maddie. It’s necessary in order for the marriage to function. Calhoun’s brutal truth and nature is edging Maddie 😏, pretty soon she’s not going to be able to resist him anymore.

Im glad he is sharing his thoughta about Beth rather than watching things go bad without warning Maddie. He is including her in his thoughts and concerns becoase it is her family. If things go south and Beth is involved, Maddie will have been warned well in advance.
