I get that he cant jump through dimensions, but It's not really jumping dimensions, rather visiting alternative timeline part of the same dimension, so Hikaru can indeed follow them, but it appears you don't want to come up with further plot, and decided to take the easy way of sayin he sent people, then boom, 3 days later they return with experimental materials. Personally, I want to see Hikaru revive everyone who died on Boruto's world, but that cant happen if Hikaru dont go along
