Hanna is just too awesome. She likely figured they would attack her when either way (likely as soon as she we on her way out of the kingdom and outside of her parents protection), so she set the stage herself and laid a trap. Thinking about it, there was likely no way to avoid Regina given her mother's likely charmed or under some mental influence ny the Crows. In fact, her Mom was manipulated to bring her into the trap.
