I love Neoma, but her saying "please don't do that" when nero suggested changing the law about females becoming the future monarch was just pure selfishness :/ What if Nero has daughters in future? She's just gonna watch as they're shafted of what rightfully belongs to them? Even if she doesn't plan on becoming empress, she should still care about other female royals. If they want to abdicate then they can abdicate, but it shouldn't be illegal for them to rule if they sincerely want to and are qualified to. Idk I felt that was a missed opportunity for her to go "Change the law one day" - i get that she'll most likely be the empress by the end, thus not needing Nero to change the law, but i think it reflects badly on Neoma that she didn't even consider other female royals. She's either short sighted or selfish, but either way she's just gained negative points in my affection towards her. I hope this is just something the author overlooked because otherwise it leaves a bad taste in my mouth that neoma is just okay with the empire being jerks to female royals indefinitely.
