The Chunin exams are the only chance for Genji to enter the land of fire without any problems. During the exams the ninja of the different villages must have a free pass available, even if they are wanted in those lands where the exams take place. I'm willing to bet it was no accident that Onoki decided to give Genji a team right now, knowing that team would be ready for Konoha's chunin exams (held every 6 months). there are 5 large villages and several small ninja villages. So, at a minimum, Chunin exams are held in Konoha every 5 or 6 years. Sending a wanted ninja to the land of fire with a bounty on his head to Konoha is a symbol of great prestige for Iwa. I honestly wish Genji somehow ends up in bed with Kushina. Minato was already in love with Kushina since they were students of the academy, that would be fun. Also I hope that somehow he can steal the notes on fuinjutsu Hirashin, a jutsu that Minato is supposed to create around this time. That space-time jutsu would allow Genji to truly dominate any battlefield. I am not referring to the ability to kill many enemies but rather the mobility it grants. The ability to fly offered by the eagles is already OP in the ninja world and in fact Onoki fought against Hanzo and Hiruzen thanks to the possibility of flying. With the Hirashin he will also gain the ability to escape from any battlefield.
