Is Colt supposed to be the demon lord that didn't reincarnate properly? Goddesses cant see his memories of the book detailing a story of this world and Colt has the world devouring book's mark for the same reason he has Fluff. I'm thinking the book and the monarchs are something the demon lord reincarnations are supposed to have. After dying in his previous life, the monarchs revert to eggs. One of which (King Chick), was put with an item specifically made to counteract it(the world tree) to keep it suppressed. This would also explain why Colt received the book's mark while the MC Colt knows of didn't. There is also the fact that Chick and Fluff are linked to Colt for some special reason and I am fairly certain that Chick used to be a scourge to the world. After all, the world tree (the symbol of life and healing) was made to oppose King Chick. .
