Princess literally sounds like a person acting crazy and horribly due to despair and desperation, not that it excuses her behavior. But seriously having a creepy obsessed guy follow you around even in your reincarnations for all time and knowing the only way to die and not be bound to him again is through the Phoenix, id def do my best to be free. She should’ve told her the truth and helped her in every way possible in exchange for help removing her bond. Or atleast only using her mind control to guarantee her using the Phoenix to remove the bond and nothing else.

at this point, it really doesn't matter what reasons she has. I don't like Princess Nia because she is using and harming others to fulfill her desires. I understand that Emperor Aku's obsession with her has driven her mad (to me she seems like a person who lost her mental sanity ) and just to be clear, I believe that she very much had contributed to the emperor's obsession with her. Siblings have a connection with each other, because emperor aku is strong, she can't use mind control on him, so she is using emotional control over him. It won't be weird to think that she seduced him emotionally to gain control over him, she most likely increased his obsession for her to use him ( so don't complain now princess Nia, you brought this upon yourself due to your desires of freedom). It is easier for love to grow between them if they grew up apart. But in this case it didn't. A lot of different things have to happen for love to be manifest between siblings who grew up together. The emperor is no really in love with her, his obsession and possessive feelings comes from codependency. I still need to know more about their childhood to be sure, don't know if their parents are alive. If not, when they died? we also have to have in mind that they were raised to get marry and give birth to a heir. In the emperor's mind, since he was a child, he probably was told that he will marry his sister and that create a certain sense of posession. In his mind she belongs to him so he gets extremely jealous when others get close to her. Plus, the natural closeness between twins, she is his closest kin, the feeling of dependence, and loneliness, the feeling of being unable to be apart of the other and unable to live without the other. All together create that strong obsession. Too many things to think about XD oh almost forgot to mention that I suspected before about the high priest to be on cahoots with her. I wouldn't be surprised if she has something to do with that prophecy about Kiho's son. who knows, she seems to have her hands everywhere XD
