I liked your story very much berfore Russia arc.

He does need to realise that he is acting in self defence here. The guy clearly has said multiple times that he aims to dominate the world. He is also carrying out attacks against neighbouring countries and probably killing even more soldiers and civilians. This is just doing the world a favour to stop him before he can make matters even worse.
