If she could spread her energy through the whole clearing with four people and construct a massive dome of fire, which I'd guess to be twenty if not more meters across, wouldn't it have been easier to create two comparatively extremely small domes for Jian and Shun and just drain their qi? They might have felt her demonic energy creeping around that way but if her preparations for the big dome were already complete, she could easily cut their escape off and things would've gone as they did anyways
