I've actually been thinking of something, what if that guy isn't just stopping this land from having nine leafs cultivators because of his philosophy but he is defending his red lotus land from them as well? Since these people can't live forever they could just hunt down red lotus cultivators for life source. Then they can use that life source to reach nine starts and continue the loop infinitely aka destroying red lotus land.
