The author did a good job of making me care for the characters but I just can't read anymore. I am not sure why the author chose to use America as the setting for a novel without a greater understanding of the culture and language. American men do not wear "singlets" but they do wear tank tops or muscle shirts. American women do not "pack" their hair but they do style it. It is not possible to "register" your marriage in America, but you can apply for and receive a marriage license the same day in California but that does not make you married. A marriage service must be performed before a wedding certificate can be issued which is a legally binding document. Another stumbling block to this fairytale is that we are supposed to believe the male lead, a heavy smoker, has a wonderful aroma. A non-smoker, like the female lead, would only perceive smoke, not a wonderful intoxicating fragrance. I could go on, but I am not trying to attack the author, just provide points of reference on why the story does not work.
