This MC doesn't seem to be idiotic. infact he seems to be very clever and even his his weird stories are adding to the charm in a funny way. Hope he stays this way till the end.

just a comment on the writing style: people don't usually use long words when talking unless it's a formal speech. You can apply this to your use of words. it is alright to use long, rare words when narrating but does not fit well in bystander dialogues.
