For one I find his relations with his siblings quite endearing, people keep calling the Mc beta or subservient but the way I see it he is just an avarage older brother. He doesn't have a warriors mentality, he is not a super intelligent schemer either, but thats ok cause if you want that type of Mc and can't accept the depiction of his non perfect household dynamics or think the Mc should violently discipline the girls then you should probably just move to a different story where the mc is one of those things :P Oh well I get that it might be just a minor annoyance for some, but every family is different, flaming the mc for his family sounds kinda meh.
