The author is not pulling punches with this chapters. I don’t like the fact that she died. But it was the most logical way to tell SP that war has an inherent cost. Faceless warriors dying mean nothing. But someone as special as your first client? One with a saf story? That hits home. The only thing harder for the MC would be a family member dying. I give points for the author trying to ground the story. The question I have is this: how will the MC mature from this? How will he use this experience to make himself stronger (mentally)?
