I don't like how Mei Lan suddenly became stupid for for plot contrivance's sake here. If she was just pretending to believe Yang was the culprit to destroy Xue's relationship with him I could understand but according to her monologue she really thinks he did it! She even brought up the incident where that fox's human husband was murdered by a rival lover, a RIVAL LOVER, making her seem like even more of an airhead. Someone with her practically preternatural intelligence and information gathering ability should have figured this out.
That's exactly what's she's doing it turns out but her internal monologue this chapter, not just what she says out loud to Xue makes it seem she truly believes Yang was the one that put the hit on her which is really confusing.
Haunted_Sky:or she's doing this exactly in fear of that incident, and this betrayal from instructor lan is part of the plan to make xue hate human.
I truly hope that she'll believe in Xiao Hei's innocence; not the first time that I disliked the fact that fake dragon sealed her memories. It's weird that Instructor Mei Lan didn't follow through with the investigation and figure out that the culprit is actually the granddaughter of the Heavenly Sword Sect's sect master(of the Lightwind Continent Branch)
It’s obviously someone else from Immortal Sword Sect. Elder Yang cherishes his Xiao Bai a lot so there’s no way he sent assassins to kill her. Regardless of who it was, I like Tang Li Xue’s attitude! She shouldn’t concern herself with these things and should focus on leveling up. Getting stronger is priority right now! Other stuff can wait. Thanks for the chapter author!!!
Just realized Something.After the festival, is Tang Li Xue going to be stuck in the Foxes home for a while unable to do missions?. I mean this is not just about the Heavenly Sword sect anymore.Previously Mei Lan said that is You get a mission related to a sect(for example the Oracle sect one) You will not be getting missions related to that sect for a while to minimize the risk of getting recognised, caught or killed.But Tang Li Xue's description is already given to the Assassin's tower with a High bounty on her head and connected to all sects( the 5 great Sects and the 4 Evil Sects included). And I don't thing that is going away too soon.
