This is actually an unnecessary detail, but I think Little Seventh already noticed in the "She squinted her eyes happily and tasted the foods one by one" part that the food was poisonous (actually, considering her identity, it would be weirder not to notice). I reccomend making sentient beings based on 10 worlds of Buddhism.Cultivators try to go up in the Six realms of reincarnation, for Beasts who look down on Humans to actually have incentive to become Human-like.Also beings like Spirits/Fairies can count as Demi-Gods, since they are obviously neither Human, Beast or Undead, which can be Hungry Ghosts.They can also eventually go to the 4 upper realms, but once they die as a being of upper realm, their sould completely dissipates with no chance of rebirth. This way there is benefit to remain in a lower realm.
