Foreshadowing: it's heavily implied in the previous chapter when he told Janus he never forgot and that apparently "they" have their own avatars/incarnation which he recognised based from his memories which is why he made Devilia his woman - being physically the closest to him at that time which is according to him the name of her avatar/of her there which could possibly means that he has intimate knowledge of her and "them" which is natural because they're his wives.
