I'm thinking that Abi dies at some point (how is to be determined) then to fulfill the prophecy and in a weird sort of way to protect, Alex kills the dragon and becomes immortal. The lady in black may have been a witness or involved in some way to gain access to the blood. Alex may have used the incense to forget Abi in order to not feel the pain of a broken heart. Alex and Abigail’s love story is so heartfelt and heart wrenching all at the same time. I’m guessing Zeres gets jealous and rages on Alex but Abi gets in the middle and accidentally gets killed. And since she’s the last dragon’s keeper, Alex has to end the dragon otherwise Lexus will reign its anger and destroy everything. As for Zeres his witch queen mom probably hid him away from Alex.
