A thousand years have passed and our Abi is still the same naive, sweet, kind, and adorable girl. Question is, why did Alex killed that dragon? If Abi was a friend of the dragon then it would seem like Alex betrayed her though it’s very unlikely.

Oh this totally fits with the chapter where Zeke said Alex had the monthly bloodlust phase of a vampire who had lost his mate (he compared it to broken heart syndrome in humans), and Zeke said he didn't know when it started for Alex because he'd been going through it as long as he knew him. It seemed out of place at the time because Alex has said multiple times that he's never loved anyone other than Abi. I don't think he remembers this phase of his life, but it's still true that he's only ever loved Abi...
