Honestly i somewhere get it that it’s important for Honey to let go off his trauma completely first in order for him to accept Suyin later. So this arc is important. But man i feel so bad for her. She already has a lot to deal with considering the revelations of the truth of her baby’s death. The arc is important for both of them. This could help Suyin too when the truth of the whole matter comes out. She would need both Honey and Wang Shi then.
