If there is one thing I have learnt from this author is to never judge any situation hastily from novels to real life and to always put myself in the other person's shoes and maybe I might see how much they have suffered or where their outbursts come from but ofcause not accept or tolerate abuse. Even though Honey was rude it's always understandable with kids raised by single parents,its rare that the separation between parents had no effect on kids
