Is it just me or are all VR Game companies super suss?

Why is it in most vr novels mc gets gifted op goodies for free for no effort? This one is even worse. Literally gives two op freebies 6 chaps in. No effort, no skill, no anything. Bleh. 6 chaps in and already tempted to drop it.
